Had another one fail today. Puts power to O in the heat mode, so the heat pump cools and the strip heaters keep warming it back up.
Actually, just to be technical, it is likely putting power to the B in the heat mode. That's how things were when heat pumps first came out. You'd have to go into the installation or setup menu and see if it was programmed proper.
Could be someone got in there who did not know what they were doing.
I do a triple evac with nitro to remove non condensables.
They are set up to power o in cooling.
Yes I did . I thought the same thing that they are set up wrong but they wasn't turns out that is one of the problems they are having with the T6
Okay, cool.

If you're gonna shake TimeBuilder's hand, best not to be grounded.

This may have been covered, If so over look me. I just don't have time to read all 151 post up to this point.
I had a issue with a couple T6 stats not bringing on aux. heat when the temp was raised or during defrost.
I spoke with a trusted Honeywell representative who told me that they had a issues with the T6 "Series 4" stats. Something about the internal contacts failing. He said the problem had been resolved in the newer series.
You can look on the back of the stat, some say series 4 and some have a small 4 stamped sideways at the end of the model number.
T6 Pro issues here as well. The batch of t-stat I have are series 4 with date code 1931
Yesterday I went to replace about 45 t-stats in a water source heatpump building with the T6 Pros. Some older WSHP's I setup as 'heatpumps' and they seemed to work fine. The newer WSHPs (Daikin's model# WCCW) set-up 'conventional' wouldn't work.
No contact closure between r and w1. Spent a solid hour on the phone with Honeywell. I was told date codes 1907 and after they changed the type of relays inside and you can not check continuity on the pins. I believe they told me date codes 1945 and after have been changed again. I forget exactly but I want to say it was something to allow you to check continuity but I could be wrong.
My plan is to return all the T6 Pros and go with a new brand or the old FocusPro 6000s (which I was told are being discontinued by my distributor but Honeywell said no)
Just wanted to share my situation to help someone else who's pulling their hair out with these
I too have called Honeywell support and was not real impressed with their help or knowledge. They could not help me resolve my issue, so I called a Honeywell sales rep I know and he said to go back to the old Focus Pro. He knew more about the issue than the tech support guys and told me about the contact issues with the series 4. He also told me they was not going to discontinue the Focus Pro. Some of my supply houses have stopped carrying the Focus Pro because they too have been told they are phasing out, but he is saying different.
Really? The focus pro 6000 is still manufactured and available?
My local wholesaler told me a year ago they were not available whatsoever.
I liked that thermostat so much I put it in my own house.

We can still get the focus pro's but we don't stock them.
Just because HW/Resideo is having a bad run within a certain run of date codes, of a specific model T6, on a specific application, is no reason to condemn an entire line of thermostats.
Siemens has some nice alternatives to Honeywell's residential/light commercial line but they are not cheap The RDY and RDS series stats. I have an RDY in my home and it has been flawless. The Siemens stats are 24v. No battery power so a common is necessary.
Officially, Down for the count

I know enough to know, I don't know enough
Why is it that those who complain the most contribute the least?
MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS. POVERTY CAN'T BUY ANYTHING
I have 1 of 3 suppliers in my area that still carries the Focus Pro. The price has almost double since the T6 came out, but we can still get them. The information I am getting is the price of the Focus Pro should come back down in the coming year and be comparable to the T6. I think you will see them more available in 2020.
