Resideo purchased the designs, trademarks, and service marks, so that they can call these Honeywell thermostats when indeed the company selling them is not Honeywell anymore.

Where I work, the techs can stock any stat they want on their truck, there is no company policy. For now, I'm sticking with the T6's. Depending on how things play out, I may switch.

If you were a real tech, you'd solder a relay on that board and call it good to go.

I do a triple evac with nitro to remove non condensables.

I use 56% silver on everything except steel.

Did you really need the " If you were a real tech " ??

If Resideo gets the problem fixed... with a new generation of stat...

    All will be good.

Looking forward to hearing a report on that in this thread!

It's the sideways number between the mn and date code on the back of the stat. The series 5's have shipped but not arrived at my wholesaler yet.

Does this sideways number five show on the outside of the sealed box?

Just curious, has anybody gotten Honeywell Tech Support to admit to this problem?

You would need to call Resideo, not Honeywell. But I am guessing the answer is yes, because somebody here said they came out with a bulletin that they rectified the problem.

I haven't seen one yet, just a low res pic from my distributor. The pic they sent me shows it on the back of the stat as I described and it says "series 5" below the serial number on the box.

I have not talked directly to Honeywell/Resideo. My info has been passed through my distributor but they have been in contact with them regarding the issue since October.

I have not seen a manufacturer bulletin but I'll post the info I have in the pros forum.

Had another one fail today. Puts power to O in the heat mode, so the heat pump cools and the strip heaters keep warming it back up.
