Hourly pay is based on performance and ability.
We all know that years of working in our trade does not actually correlate with the ability of what an individual can produce.
I have met technicians with a short amount of time in the trade that can run circles around individuals with 3 times the experience because it's all based on personal goals and drive.

A "Top Gun" technician is also an individual that works best through performance based pay.
A "Top Gun" technician has the ability to look at a system and not get tunnel vision to just look at the immediate problem but also identify other faults and concerns about the system and provide solutions for the customer to improve the performance.

Pay scales are also something that vary between locations and cost of living.

If you're in our area and interested in learning more I would love to set up a time to meet!

    That is all good.....

What is your Max hourly pay, actual dollars per hour right now?

I'll decide on whether to set up a meet, based on the answer to the above question.

    thank you.

    Gentlemen,

    I appreciate the interest.

I am looking for high quality, top level technicians. I'm looking for those that enjoy the craft and have the ability to not only perform high quality craftsmanship and customer service but also know the value of generating revenue to grow a company.

The reason the pay topic rarely gets discussed is because it's all based on the individual.

Ideally I would like to see technicians that make $130,000-$150,000 per year walk in my door.
    Are you that technician?

Please keep this thread focused on a really great job opportunity.
My opinion is this, if you are an HVAC technician and you spend time on this website then you are someone I am definitely interested in because you care enough about the trade to want to learn more and interact with other HVAC technicians.

How much of that 150K would be in incentives? What would be the app hourly wage of those 150K techs? Does any tech there make 150K? If so what is the hourly wage of that person? How much do you pay towards healthcare for a family?

If health insurance benefits were even average one would at least expect some mention of them. When nothing is said as is the case here (Unless I somehow missed it.) it would be normal to expect less than average health benefits.

Sounding like a techs pay is based on a set per cent ( commission ) of the invoice so the more you convince a customer they need a new widget the more you make. OP convince me I am wrong. To make 150k on the check I used 50 hrs for 50 weeks (10 hrs ot@ 1 1/2) plus 2 weeks vacation so about $54.54 hr so it's going to be lots of commission cause I don't think a residential co. Is Paying that well But it might.
I as a former employer just don't understand why the max rate / benefits are not posted. It's a fair question with a simple answer.

Poster does not want to post actual dollar amounts

There is a reason why people work, it aint a lifestyle thing, but yet when the rubber hits the road, posters looking here for help, wont be honest

they conflate the job 'environment' as some kind of perk?? worth a dollar amount.

"Dude, you need more than 2 wires to a condenser to run a 2 stage heatpump."

    "Just get it done son."

I have two friends in the area that might be persuaded to check this position out.

One has 3 years experience plus schooling. Is an OK tech for that time in the trade. Very confident, I call him a hot shot because he thinks he knows it all already. Has no qualms about selling or upgrading anything. Thinks that furnaces 10+ years old are on their last legs and should be replaced as a preventative measure or with even the slightest repair needed.

The other has at least ten years in. Is a really good tech and prides himself on that. Will only suggest selling something or upgrading if he really believes it. To him a 10+ year old furnace is not old at all and would rather fix it than sell one it seems to me.

Now of course both could come in for an interview but if you had to choose one that is better suited for what you are looking for which one would it be?

I worked for a company many years ago that wanted to pay me $40,000 with a year end bonus to increase that to around $60,000 ( this is Florida so the numbers are lower than almost anywhere ). I knew they were being evasive so I wouldn't settle for less than $55,000 base . As expected my year end bonus should have been $12,000 ( 10% of the profits ) but they paid themselves large bonuses out of the profits which left nothing for me . My feeling here is the OP is being evasive on the details .

Revisiting this post, and as usual, lots of nay-sayers and negative comments from individuals that aren't interested in employment in this region.

    Pay?
    Ok, let's post some numbers...

Hourly - $20-50/hour based on experience and skillset

Bonus/Spiffs - a full page schedule of hard numbers of profit-sharing spiffs. (Not based on a percentage of invoices or payroll vs billable).

It's hard enough to find qualified employees and especially ones that are motivated, so expressing your past experiences with other companys that was a negative experience is not helping a small business that is trying to create a great work environment.

If anyone is in this area and would like a new opportunity, we would love to talk!
