Take SC at indoor unit
Sounds like not enough air moving
2010 5 ton xl16 heatpump model #4TWX6060E1000AA that is short cycling in heating mode, kicking out on high pressure. Cooling mode cools perfect but has a high subcool at 20 superheat at 3 degrees. Have tested out eev board and everything seems to be operating correctly. Scratching my head on this one, I dont normally work on many trane units unless its changing them out for something else. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Verify indoor airflow, was the 20 sc in cool mode? Sounds overcharged.
Probably had a leak in the expensive Trane evaporator, now they got a pos Frankenstein. Still better that a Goodman matched system.
Provide numbers that would help us help you.

Is it wired correctly? Trane has some different wiring compared to most mfrs.

mismatched system is crap shoot. first sounds like overcharge in cooling, 16i usually ran 6-12 sc and 15-18 sh.
have seen mismatched systems where there is no winning on charge, not enough to cool gets heat. enough to cool kicks psi switch in heat.
