Hi guys! Hope all is well.
We have a customer that has a bar/coffee shop. When the bar is empty the system cools the area sufficiently. It is a really simple layout. 14" spiral duct down the center of the 35'x15' bar area with saddles cut into the sides. The ductwork and system was engineered for the area properly. But when they jam pack people into the bar area at night it gets stuffy and hot.
My customer did some research and wants to install a 2,016CFM inline booster fan into the spiral trunk line. Has anyone had any experience with something like this? We dont deal with booster fans in commercial application very often. Thanks guys!

Why do they think increasing the CFM will solve the problem? Sounds to me like the unit is undersized when it's under full load, no?
Any bar restaurant I do gets a minimum of 3 systems.
1) For humidity
1) for actual heat load / loss of the structure
1) for People Load.
Sounds like you're friend needs another unit!
