York (Floating Limit) Alarm

So we have two 450ton York YK's and lately we've been getting alarms on our Continuum system saying "Floating Limit" I asked our chiller technician and said he wasn't familiar with this alarm. Anyone? Really curious at this point. Seen nothing in the service manual...although I really haven't combed through it either.

Could be FULL LOAD LIMIT, your BAS may have it worded weird. The Opti-view panel will accept a signal for demand (current) limit. The BAS would see that thru a E-link not dry contracts. When your BAS tells you that alarm go see what the chiller is doing.

Try calling the guy who programmed your Continuum. He is likely the one who named that alarm. It's possible that it's related to staging the chillers. Such as when to start or stop the lag chiller. But that's just a guess.

Also, try looking at the controls print's sequence of operation. That info could be there.
