    PG&E may be in trouble

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/oxygen-de...38UddtShLPE0O8

"A Northern California man dependent on an oxygen supply died Wednesday, shortly after power cuts by Pacific Gas and Electric Co. affected his home, fire officials said Friday."

I need to find the article I read the first day PG&E started this. It stated that the company had wasted millions on green energy initiatives instead of repairing infrastructure that badly needed attention. Now, under the gun for being the possible cause of wildfires, they have begun these blackouts.

This is to be expected of a public utility operated by a socialistic state. California is headed in the direction of Venezuela. Perhaps worse. Problem is, California is infecting the entire nation with their communistic thinking.

If his life depended on electricity, why didn't he have a UPS or generator? I think we just had two ARP court cases about personal responsibility...

The pge problem began when they(govt) prevented them from going in and keeping everything clear due to "it's killing trees".. now they really don't have access.
They need to allow the loggers to come back in and clear about 75 yards each side... But now even if they do that... They don't want to get electrocuted (loggers).
When it clear it's real easy to maintain... This problem began with the govt calling the shots on something they knew nothing about... PGE wasn't begging to be able to clear for fun.. but it's because it something you have to do or you end up with the problem we have now.

Cutting the power though.. dont know about that. Looks like pg and whatever could do a better job of keeping the areas around the transmission lines cleared.

You nailed exactly what the article I am trying to find said is the root cause of the problem. That with spending money on green technology when infrastructure was severely in need of repair or replacement.

One reason they didn't, was they were not allowed to do so.

That’s pretty funny. The power company cuts off the power to stop fires.

Now they killed an old fellar who prolly smoked camels...and they are commies for cutting off that powrr.

They were blocked from clearing for a long time due to the tree huggers..
Once everything grows up you know longer have access.
Personally I don't blame em for cutting power that way if a fire breaks out they are in the clear.
They don't like cutting power... It's a big deal.. you are losing money. .. going back on line takes time as well.

They have to spend the money or have to lower the rates ...I expect the green technology spending has some grant money behind it as well... The govt is hollering neglect while they created the problem by not understanding you have to keep around the lines clear and have access roads.
They(energy corp) have no issues with spending money as it's govt regulated...they just increase the rates... It's the govt that tells them you can't put in new line.. poles etc to keep rates down.. spending has to be approved on large scale projects
Given the choice an energy company will spend as much money as they can as they more they spend the more they can make ...let's say they spent a billion and are allowed a certain percentage profit...if they spend two million they can double profits all through rate hikes as the govt regulates profit.

Power lines behind my house get knocked out all the time. Bunch on commies will NOT bury the lines or trim all the trees.
