    Heat pump dryers

Just saw on this old house they now have heat pump dryers. Why didn’t we think of these. Makes perfect sense.

Air comes out of the drum moist, goes over the Evap and condenses the moisture out. Then runs over the condenser and picks up heat. Runs through the drum and starts all over again.

No vent outside anymore. Supposed to save 50% versus electric dryer. Actually sounds like a great idea and concept.

Hopefully this wasn’t a rerun from 3 years ago and I’m just late to the party.

Can someone please explain to me -
Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but plenty of time to do it twice?

From reading the comments on the green building article it looks like it is not easy. But i am betting that any hvac tech worth his salt could do it.

There is some ultrasonic dryers I have heard about a few years ago. I wonder how that technology is advancing? Lower energy and easy on your clothes.

I can say for sure that they Hybrid water heaters work and are worth it! As for a hybrid dyer, I have my doubts. 40 minutes to dry just 2 pounds of clothes? I can dry 10 pounds or better of wet clothes in an hour with a regular electric dryer. Plus that Samsung is only 4 cubic feet. Most dryers start at 6 to 7.5 cubic feet. Good idea, probably ahead of its time.
