Oh and the battery life is outstanding, especially compared to a Testo 320/330 the last one I had, would run out of charge constantly. So I always had to have a cord when doing combustion which I really hated.

It will also run and charged while plugged in.

Just curious. I found it them by accident.
I have not, but it looks like a nifty analyzer. but until I meet a rep with one, I probably wont go after one.

One of my requirements is limited downtime. Especially in the winter, I cant go without a working analyzer.

I visited the Systronik factory in 1992(!), when I was Enginering manager at Bacharach. Good people solid products. No source to buy them in USA at this time.

Down time is also a major issue with my work as well. Testo and Wohler are only a day shipping away. I could actually drive to testo’s hq and drop it off if I had too. The company do have a few testo units that are used by other techs but they don’t have the training and experience that I do so the more simple the better. If their is a real issue I will be sent out. I couldn’t imagine working on any type of heating system without my analyzer.

I’m definitely going for the Ecom-D analyzer. I didn’t see if they had a combustion air temp probe available or included. I know it’s only really used for efficiency calculations but I like to have the option.

Just using a combustion analyzer on a customers system can Truly impress them because ”i’ve never seen anyone use one of those on my furnace! What does that do? Why didn't any other company use one of those? Umm......”

The Ecom does not come with a remote sensor, but a space sensor, I believe there is an option for a remote sensor. The space ambient sensor is removable, so I assume a remote style probe could plug into the port.

Its a non-issue for me, so I never looked into it.

Yes testo did stop making the 308.
No one makes anything like it that I’m aware of.

The one thing I found annoying and had to change was how the date populated on the print outs.

    It was in Euro format,

    So Day, Month, Year

    Instead of Month, Day, Year.

They were able to walk me through how to change it, but it was a more complicated procedure then it should have been. I had to put the analyzer into a programming mode.

So if the date thing would bother you, you can request the American style date readout at time of order.
