This is not a left/right issue but more of a health issue or what have we done to ourselves issue. As I understand males do not have the testosterone they once did, not born with it, don't produce as much, whatever. WHY!!!!! What has changed, diet, lack of manual labor, GMOs, what else could be the cause? Is this something that just happened or was it "planned"? Another conspiracy theory or happenstance? What ever the cause it seems the left is taking advantage of the situation and it is leading us down a dangerous road.

They need God out of the picture and Christians, the real ones who actually believe in the Christ Jesus of the Bible represent as well has inhibit the left wing progressives from having it there way (whatever that may be at the moment). Can't have those who hold to absolutes opposing them and holding up what they think is progress.

So, removing the tax exemption from the churches is one step in the eventual direction of prohibiting Christians and all churches from participating in having a voice in government. What we are seeing is the slow regulation and outlawing of what people are allowed to believe. Started with so called "hate" crimes. Extra penalty for what you were thinking when you broke the law.

Now if you have a moral belief that marriage is between a biological man and biological woman you are to be persecuted and possibly prosecuted. This is all happening very fast. Get ready for some pretty crazy stuff from the left and they will use the courts (already have) to enforce their own hatred. It really is a hatred for God himself. Christians (and most Jews) are just targets.
Absolutes exist regardless of what the Left wants to believe. They push Moral Relativism, but just let some come push their wife to the ground and steal their purse. They'll be all about Moral absolutes.

That is only a sample of how devastating socialism (liberalism) is and the result of it has been the same every single time it has been implemented. Millions have been thrust into poverty and slavery and died because of this insane system.

WHY DOES ANYONE SUPPORT THIS SYSTEM THAT HAS BEEN PROVEN REPEATEDLY TO BE SO DESTRUCTIVE?????

You and I understand that. But, if you get in a conversation with a true postmodern believer they will explain to you that there still are no moral absolutes. they will make the claim that the idea that it is wrong to steal or rape is a "Social Construct". Something that most of us have agreed on but has not absolute source for being the only possible way to look at it.

This allows them to rape and kill those who disagree with them (Jews and Christians) and do so with justification when the time comes. Relativism allows for a constantly changing "truth" to fit the immediate circumstances. This is what is going on in our court system right now by the more liberal of judges.

Hugh, I am so glad you brought up this fact of absolutes. People, seems especially those that lean left, want to see every thing is shades of grey, not black and white. I think this is one of the main points that divide the left and right. Liberal see things as grey, there are always extenuating circumstances that make it so it is not their fault. It really doesn't seem to matter how wrong they are, it is not their fault. Conservatives see things as black and white with little grey in between. We hold to those truths and liberals see that as hateful that we do not seem to consider the other circumstances that release them for wrong. The do not realize that conservatives consider those extenuating circumstances but they must make a true difference in the issue, not just be a side bar. Liberals don't seem to understand it is much harder to live with absolutes and the consequences that go along. How much harder is it to admit that you made a mistake that to blame the dog? How much easier is it to always have that scapegoat at the ready to keep you in the clear. Those scapegoats make it easy to justify things that many of us realize is wrong. I would like to think we all realize them to be wrong and just take the easy way to get past them but sad to say I believe some have come to the conclusion that some no longer see the absolutes that you reference.

    Great point Hugh!

    IMO it is really simple...

The left are spoiled children who have not mentally grown up...
They have decided they can live in a self engineered mental/emotional denial...
    And call it reality.

And with the help of the MsM...
They can ignore any other reality that does not agree with their reality.

Historically... this does not fare well for a group (group of people, state or nation) that goes down this road of thinking/believing/living in a state of self imposed denial (think cults that hide on a farm in the wilderness)...
As they become soft and as a result are easy prey for another group/nation that is tougher (adheres to the moral code that has existed since mankind existed).

This is, IMO, the decay of a nation...

We have a chance to fix this...
    However if we squander it...
The next liberal administration WILL destroy the USA!
And if the basic rights of the USA go down... the lifestyles of freedom and materialism we take for granted, will go away. And some think the world could go back into another dark ages.

IMO we need to get rid of the govt safety nets... let private charity take care of folks who need help...
And in the process: folks will have to make the choice to learn to live the old fashioned way (work for a living)...
Or starve to death in the cold...
Why is this important (working or starving)??? It forces folks to learn to make decisions based on the reality of the moral code that has existed since mankind existed... rather than live in their denial.
And that never hurt anyone... other than making them accountable!
Now accountability is another subject that should be discussed in another thread...

Would not hurt anyone to go to work...
Including a couple of our resident liberals...
    Gussie comes to mind...

Safety nets are not an issue, they can be very helpful. A safety net is only good for 3-6 months, not a year, not several years, not several generations, as we have now. I like the idea of the charities but, people have been taught to not trust charities through the charities misuse of money, or the charity taking advantage of those they are suppose to help. The culture of moral charities has been molested by the propensity of greed that permeates our society today. While it is easy to say we need to get back to the way things use to be, there are not enough left that remember and understand what it took to make that society work.

Govt safety nets are a tool to buy votes and spread influence (read that expand power)...

They are NOT a good idea... unless one believes the govt actually fixes things.

Maybe in Mayburry (small towns)... govt assistance is short term...
However in large cities... it is permanent... and yes, it is multi-generational (folks grow up in that household, learning how to work the system, and as soon as they are old enough practice what they learned from their parents).

    So IMO...
NO, govt safety nets are NOT a good idea.

    As for charities...
    All one has to do...
Is research the specific charity online... they will find out quickly which ones get the aid to the needy... and which ones are corrupt!

We just cannot throw the towel in...
Just because it requires some tuff decisions to fix the problem!

You know talking about charity and those in need . . .

My office is located between a low rent apartment building and a convenience store. On the days that I spend time in the office catching up on taking care of the business itself I see young, old, singles, couples, you name it walk past in the direction of the store then a short time later walking back with a case of beer or six pack and munchies. I can not imagine a life like that. What satisfaction can there be? I enjoy what I do and work for the money but the personal satisfaction in this job is massive. Getting to converse with customers, learn about their life, things they have done, and the appreciation they give for the work I do for them makes the job much more enjoyable. Getting home at night then looking back on the good you did brings a satisfaction money can never fill, money has it's own space to fill which is at another level. It makes me feel sorry for these people, even the ones that have a job but find no joy in it.

Trump at best is the definition of shades of gray. There are two choices with Trump, you accept his shades of gray, or you are blind to them.

And they do so with great irony, since the statement itself is a moral absolute.

OR, Trump is used as the scapegoat for all the ills of the Dem party! Can you name one thing that Trump has done that is seen as a positive by the Dem party? Now think of all the things Trumps has been blamed for that the Dems actually did!
