    Need some more info man..

Mainly....is the box itself designed for that temperature? If they got just a plain jane w/i box that wont work very well.

Also i hope this box is inside, in a low humidity and lower temperature environment. (Not outside or in a humid 90F warehouse)

A -40F box would require a design evaporator temperature of around -50F. This would put this application outside the operating envelope of the standard Copeland Scroll compressor. -50F typically requires an compound two-stage compressor or a cascade 2-stage system.

Heatcraft (Bohn) makes a line of two-stage low temperature condensing units as well as matched 2-stage systems which would be suitable for this job:

    http://www.heatcraftrpd.com/PDF/Bohn...STAGE-5-30.pdf

I did a quick load calc for this 14 x 14 x 8 ft box at -40F and came up with a load of approximately 20,000 Btuh. Based on that, it looks like a BCU1008ABEX6 condensing unit with a BML330 evaporator would work.

Of course, a detailed load calculation should be done, but this gives you an idea of what's needed.
