    Copeland scroll oil issues

    Med temp rack
    1- Copeland ZF40K4E-TWC
    1- Copeland ZF18K4E-TF5
    - Henry S-5890 oil separator
    - OMB oil controls
    -407A
    -POE oil
    -Low pres. 45psi
    -high pres. 240psi
-suction line temp @ comp. 64* (41* superheat)
The ZF40 OMB opens, fills up to half glass, OMB closes, runs for 20-25 seconds oil level steadily dropping then repeats. Any ideas why it would be pumping oil out that quick?

    Thats odd for sure man.

I wouldnt think a scroll would pump out oil like that. Ive seen semi herms do that but not a scroll

Heres the sheet on the OMB. Are the time delays set properly?

Maybe the oil that is fed to the compressor is hot? Is foamy? So is really not much oil .
So it looks like it fills up with oil, but it's really refrigerant-rich oil being rapidly boiled off.

I’ve got a video but I can’t post it for some reason.

Maybe your oil separator is defective and is constantly bleeding by and you're not getting oil in the OMB feed but liquid refrigerant instead?

Just an idea. Ive seen plenty of those emerson oil separators have stuck floats and keep bypassing all the time

    Wouldn’t the oil be foaming?
