Try a bottom or inside roast. Should be a bit leaner than the roast you used. Fat and jerky don't work well together. What marinade did you use? I make my own which consists of 50/50 soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce and whatever spices I choose to add.

It was a top sirloin roast. I did my own marinade 1 dark beer, 1cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup worcestershire, 1/4cup brown sugar, garlic salt and pepper.

Where at? I’m sorta limited to Dicks Sporting Goods around here for lumberjack. Think I have 2 or 3 bags left.

I’ve had, and use only, lumberjack brand pellets. Never had a problem with quality, and they never fail to feed.

Menard's sells Pitboss for $14 @ 40lbs. It's half of what Home Depot wants for the Traeger pellets. I've been using the Hickory pellets since I bought the grill, but I bought the Competition blend today.

Trager pellets are a little pricey. Little less that $1 a lb.

First go at a brisket, turned out really good. I Over seasoned slightly. Had it on for about 9hrs, Wrapped and rested in a cooler for about another hr. I picked up a "smoke tube" today. The smoke ring looks really nice.
