They only did the last three before the conduit went back down into the building.

And there is well over a hundred feet of that EMT on the roof!

    $2.25 minus 0.89

Now add all of the labor to apply that caulk.

Whoever was doing that probably looked down the 100+ feet and realized how long is was going to take, so they bailed.

In reality, how much water can actually come in and cause damage and that angle? Honestly i do not think that will be an issue unless it was underwater. Either way I am not condoning this behavior or tactics.

Maybe the point of what this electrician was trying to do was honest, trying to save a few bucks. Then realized that it was going to cost him more money than if he were to have used the proper materials to begin with.

Which brings us to the bigger point. The installer was a hack.

I'm lazy. But only to the point that I like to go home early. Always got beer waiting, and that is much more important to me than calling in an hour before my eight hours is up and seeing if there is another call.

Like today. Had 7.25 hours in. Last call less than 10 minutes from home. You think I'm going to call the office to see if there is something else going on? LOL

If there was something so important that it needs MY attention, and there 'often' is, the office needs to contact me.

I'm a company man and will step up to the plate when required, but not too hip on "critical" calls for comfort heating or cooling in the commercial sector when they're going home at 5:00 PM anyway. Seriously.

Funny now...Not so much when the roofers seal every panel and the top of the RTU with that stuff...
