Had Evap coil replaced, 3 days later compressor exploded

Something “blows” about this whole job, I still say, that’s one clean blow. Maybe the compressor imploded.

    I'm going to agree!!!
I think that is just shadow on the auction lines and other than that, it's one clean unit.

You should verify that 5 tons is truly what your house needs. Bigger than what is needed is bad, not good.
The size of the old equipment means nothing. Only a load calculation will determine the correct size.
AOP Rules: Rules For Equipment Owners.

    Free online load calculator: http://www.loadcalc.net/

There = not here. Their = possessive pronoun. They're = they are
It's = contraction of it is. Its = the possessive form of it
Too = also. To = expressing motion. Two = 2
Then = after that, next. Than = indicates a comparison.

    Please revisit the site rules.

    Thanks
I apologize. I didn't read the rules as I was in a hurry to get information but I won't do it again.

House is just over 9 years old and had a few HVAC companies out here over the years and none of them liked my single unit for a 2300ish spft 2 story house. They all said they rather see a split unit.

I do appreciate all the replies though. Just another tough day for me but glad to get some information from the replies.

A split unit is not the opposite of a single unit. Perhaps they suggested two systems.
Again, a load calculation is essential. No other method is reliable. Positively none.

2300 sq ft house with a 5 ton. Wow I hope ya live in the depths of hell.

If this house is a 2 story, you actually only have a tall 1150 sq ft house.

I think I know why your compressor failed such an early death, most likely you don’t have the ductwork for a 5ton system.
