Looks like I have a lot more joints to knock apart there's three more runs just like this.

Yep no primer or glue in the joints just glue painted on after assembly.
Sad thing is i am pretty shure they were not even the lowest bidder.

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

I hate running traps. I love EZ TRAPS.
Well it looks like they originally had 1 big 2" trap for each run but someone removed it and just trapped the units that are being used.

i love how they used the biggest drain size they could find then reduce it down to the proper size what a waste of PVC pipeing

I have to admit that if what I'm seeing is all outside that I wouldn't want to glue the trap in either. It makes it much easier to service & no damage would happen if the joint came apart. I wouldn't put the trap outside though. I don't know that it makes any difference but I'm not aware of any manufacturer that recommends putting the trap outside.

The best things in life are free but not everyone is willing to pay the price.
When you appreciate what you have, you have a lot more.
They are all rooftop package units. So the traps have to be outside. I often just put a trap with no drain line its free cooling for the roof. When i clean them i usually take the panel off and snake them and follow with water and pan tablets or drain and pan spray.Sent from my rotary telephone using Tapatalk

That's pretty funny, painting the glue on !
I do a triple evac with nitro to remove non condensables.
Thats what i thought. And i am pretty shure it was a large well known company. I am the guy in a red tahoe without a logo.

that's the link to a product being marketed, to prevent freezing or drying out of the trap.
Now this won't work in your installing the trap in a vent pipe, you still need the water seal to get the smell out. But what about the rooftop application mentioned in this post? Good or bad idea?
