But the bank prints and supplies our Monopoly money, with the approval of our government gangsters. Have you ever seen a monopoly person go to jail, they have free get out of jail cards.

Social Security is a rip off.

It may be a rip off to you because you are very disciplined and a master investor who never got in a pinch in life. But SS was designed for the masses, not highly educated, master investors like you. Imagine what our homeless situation would look like without SS. Look at the bright side, without SS which they paid into, we'd be using Fed money (welfare) to support the elderly. Do you want that? Think beyond yourself! At least most rtipcients paid into it.

I can do a lot of things the average person cannot do, but I would never look down on them for it, as some here appear to do regarding SS.

It may be easy for you to say "if you retire without a nest-egg, here is a gun to shoot yourself." But it is unreasonable to most others.

My wife is very pragmatic. She use to be DemocRAT but now hates stupid socialist DummycRATS & would never vote for one again. However she tells me I should retire early if a socialist DummycRAT wins 2020. She says I should become a lazy worthless leech like a DummycRAT & just spend the rest of my years living off you young DummycRATS.

It is theft and therefore immoral.
It is very, very poorly managed; ie.. mismanaged
It is a pyramid scheme that cannot possibly fund itself.

If an insurance company attempted to run anything similar the officers would be tried and sent to prison.

A humane alternative would have been for the government to pass a law requiring you the worker to invest in a private fund of your own choice and have the ability to move your money around as you seek the best alternative. Only upon reaching retirement age would you be able to begin withdrawing from the fund. But no, the government SS monopoly absconded with your money themselves. The government also "borrowed" from the SS funds for other uses and squandered it.

That is typical of a system based on government socialism. It NEVER works! And now people are asking for more of the same via socialized healthcare and so called free college and the list goes on. Even including illegals! Socialism is NUTS! It is destructive to a nation.

You've got to be kidding. Insurance companies are far more corrupt than any govt agency. I know this for a fact because one just defended a company I sued. What they did was deplorable. They lied, mischaracterized me, got experts to lie under oath, asked their clients and witnesses to lie under oath, ignored the law and refused to accept any accountability for breaking the law. It was a sham trial. And after all that, I'm now waiting for them to sue me for tens of thousands of dollars for trial costs.

If you ever spent four days in a courtroom litigating against them or paid three times for your health insurance, you wouldn't make such naive statements about them.

WHO lobbied the govt to make those laws to require those loans... (hint, the banks)
And WHY did the polecats make those laws... (hint, bankers bought them off)

    AND... most important:
WHY did folks allow those polecats into office???
(hint... folks are too busy being irresponsible and being greedy to listen to common sense)

If folks were involved in politics...

What the 'govt managed retirement program' (what social security really is)... does...
Is to require you to pay into a fund that supposedly will give you $$$ when you are old.

ANYONE that is willing to spend about 30 minutes doing some online research (yeah, even Google has the truth on this available)... will find that if they had invested the SAME amount of $$$ themselves...
They would have a HUGELY better retirement...
Than the govt is giving them.

    They will NOT!
All the govt does... is screw up most of what they do...

    WHY folks trust the govt...
Is a lesson in how greed will cause folks to make literally stupid and self destructive choices!

Show me an honest polecat and I'll show you an unemployed polecat. For the most part it wouldn't matter who we elected. They are all being paid by someone. Depending on what's most important to the person voting is who they sell their vote to. There is no magical ideal politician, it just depends on what the people want and what they will put up with. Your ideal politician is somebody else's worse nightmare and vice versa. Nothing will ever change

The general public does not make enough money, nor do they have the discipline to put that money aside for retirement. It must be taken out of their paychecks before they ever see it. They must have their taxes and health insurance taken out of their paychecks too because those would not be paid for by the individual either.

Good for you that you are a master investor with absolute discipline. Too bad you are so grumpy that you lost a few bucks on your SS 'investment.' How much did you lose on all the insurance premiums you paid for over your lifetime? I suppose you hate your platinum Medicare plan too and would rather be paying $3,000/mo for private health insurance...for the rest of your life.

So why hasn't SS been privatized w/oversight? Investing and garnering a much larger return for the people? The deduction could still be mandatory. Your concerns would be addressed and John Doe would make a great deal more on his 'investment.

The reason is that the Gov't wishes to maintain control over their 'slush fund'. It's been mismanaged, raided & used for leverage by the Gov't for so long. One always wonders how much longer funds will be available to fulfill its original purpose?

All of the above said, the problems with SS may be unsolvable, since corruption will likely be an issue no matter how the funds are managed or by whom. A small demonstration of Socialism at work for the ordinary man.

Exactly! Just because some can invest better than SS does, doesn't make the system bad for all.

If money was not taken out of folks paychecks, this country would collapse real fast.
