    OH ONE IMPORTANT THING

You take Acetone and clean the aluminum

I used a rag soaked with it

The channels are in parallel, so you can cut one out and seal the ends, in theory. I didn’t try epoxy like Ice suggested because of the pressures of 410a. I didn’t really trust it.

I practiced on an empty beer can and was successful, but when I tried to solder the coil, no good. I’m thinking maybe the oil in the channels made the repair unsuccessful. Sometime when it’s slow, I’m going to get a coil and practice in the shop. I’m frustrated that I couldn’t seal this coil.
I went through the exact same thing last week. Tried the flux core and the alu500 no luck.

Ive been successful on a alum distributor rub out but this my second failed attempt on a micro channel. Likley also my last attempt.

I meant . . . . to install the new condenser coil when it arrives. <g>

But it's not as funny now that I re-realized that you are not doing that job. <g>
