    bohn refregration

I have walk in cooler 3 ton with 2 Bohn evaporator. The suction pressure will not go more than 45psi and supper heat at the evaporator with txv all the way open does not come bellow 26.i could not find any leak even though I put stop leak in it still I have to charge it every 4 to 6 weeks. Bubbles stays in sight glass it clear out for few minutes and come back. The system is about 3 years old. I notice the installer did not put in the orifice for 404a because is in the bag and attached to the evaporator. Is that the reason for the problem. Where all the Freon went? Did it accumulate in the receiver or the problem is some where else?

1st issue is the stop leak

    Now your screwed.

Adding refrigerant every 4 - 6 weeks is a substantial leak.

What leak detector (s) are you using?

Never use that crap again, Nothing Now its in there.

Have you dropped the evaporator drain pan and look for stains, Shinny U-Bends, Electronic CAREFULLY near the drain, Just walking into the box with a leak in the coil sets my machine off.

Have you tested the leak detector?

Adding gas every 4-6weeks is a crime

Does your electronic leak detector actually work , have you verified it ?
The primary function of the design engineer is to make things difficult for the fabricator and impossible for the serviceman.

I agree ,,, there may not even be a leak , it could be that the stop leak is now slowly blocking the circuit.

Two solenoids or one for both?

Lots of copper between the condenser and evaps or close coupled? Exposed lines or buried in a wall

And what is the subcooling after you "top it off?"
