Not enough cooling on hot days

Was on a service call, one unit was off on high pressure, was about 130 degrees in there

    Service access seems adequate.

If it was 130 in there what was it outside?

Given the amount of holes in that whole thing I would have thought it was OK.

If that is a pool heater vented into the same space, was it running also?

Such a shame too because the coil guards on those Affinitys are a dream to remove. No excuse for that (lack of) clearance.

I would almost think the space between them, or lack of, would be more of a problem than the enclosed space. When they are that close those adjacent sides on the units can't get much air especially if they are both running.

Pool heater under the deck would not pass code...
And the AC units have lots of location issues.

I guess the 'appearance' of the units is more important...
Than whether they work or not.

I would hate to have their elec bill...

Circus, BNM, Max, & RLJN are correct.

Also take a look at what they set the Condensers on.

At least the pull heater has a concrete pad, although it got washed out.

The Free Space, above those Condensers, at least to me, appears to be sufficient so as to not restrict, or interfere with the discharge.

As far as that "130 degrees" Gman, what was the Outdoor Temp.?

I made the homeowner aware of the problem. My company gave them a price on moving the units outdoors where they belong. Problem is they don't want to see them. I agree totally against code with a propane fired pool heater right next to them

A Hot Day, with two condensers running, bringing the Condenser Ambient up to 130 degrees, .... Was that Pool Heater also running Gman?
