    RTAA expansion valve upgrade kit

Have an electronic expansion valve on a Trane RTAA170 leaking pretty bad. My local supplier said I need to do an upgrade kit and change out both expansion valves as well as controller? Has anyone done this before? Thanks

Thanks for the info. How long would you say it will take to change out the two valves and a controller? I’ve never done it so I’m just trying to give an idea to the suits at my company.

I did a chiller over a weekend. 1 day to recover, install, leak check and evacuate. Next day to re-charge and check operation.

Good advice above. I've done them several times in one long day. That sucks, but sometimes you don't have a choice with a process machine.

Process chiller they only shut down 2 times a year. circuit #1 had a low charge we took out charge to confirm and go back with nameplate. circuit #2 had small leaks that needed to be repaired on condenser coil.
