Goodman 4 ton 14seer not cold....on hot day

I have had my new HVAC system up and running for only a few weeks without any issues until today.

The unit is struggling to maintain temperature. We normally set at 71*, but will not get any lower than 74* and the compressor is running 100% duty cycle.

Here is what I have measured:

    Thermostat set: 71
    Indoor temp: 74
    Return temp: 73
    Supply temp: 58
    Indoor RH: 39%
    Outdoor RH: 52%
    Outside temp (side condenser): 92
    Condenser discharge temp: 103

The air handler is running a 2 stage blower. 25% constant fan, 50% within 1* temp swing and 100% over 3 degrees. I have seen hot humid days and the unit would cycle on and off at 50% blower for 20 minutes.

Now today, it is running nonstop, and cannot keep up. Im ok if this is just undersized, but my feeling is thst something is not operating correctly....like it needs more freon. Before I call my installer back, I'd like to know if there is more information to diagnose.

The unit is installed in a very tight attic space, and I was limited to 22" high, making this 4 ton the largest install.

Im sure im missing some very pertinent information, please let me know.

    Thank you

    Paul

A 15 degree temperature drop inside and a 11 degree rise outside shows it's not working right. Guessing your installers did a crappy job leak checking their joints.

I just rechecked. The temp is dropping outside slightly

    Inside 71/56 - 15*
    Outside 101/88 - 13*

He hooked up some inert gas, and preasure tested it for 30/40 minutes with a digital gauge. Does this seem like a leak may be present?

The compressor is nonstop running and cannot cool past 74. I can't help but to think something is not quite here.

Ok, got it. I'm just asking more then the unit can provide. I went into the project thinking this *may* be so, but was hoping it was not.

    Thanks for the sanity check.
