That's one of those new single motored condensing units that I've been reading about. The motor, which is inside of the compressor, spins both the compressor scroll thingy and the fan at the same time.

I think California passed a law making it so all units will have to be like this starting next year.

Sounded like the fan bearings were shot , so im leaning over to find the sticker on the motor and the noise stops .... stand back up and the noise starts again ... im like WTF

Lean against unit again and it stops making noise

Hmm never seen anything like this

Got to looking harder and realize the shaft was digging a hole

Isn’t that Copeland’s new compressor designed to support the condenser fan motor? I can’t wait to see one myself!

That's a direct drive!! Great in windy locations,it will run the compressor with no electricity..Same technology as our predecessor's installed "AKA" windmill. It even has a auto reverse polarity function to ensure you get the proper compression ratio when the wind changes direction. And has updated technology to let installer choose whatever type of refrigerant their heart desires. Compressor is 100% universal and Inverted. SEER ratings is through the roof!!
