    Trane TU service tool

Waiting on a call back from our branch about purchasing.

What branches will 100% sell it? we do installs for our local trane, so I donít see a problem getting it, just thinking about a backup plan.

Good luck! I was told it is required to be sold by the local branch and ours isnt playing nicely with us right now.

They changed the requirements for selling it recently. If you guys are doing installs for your CSO, you should be ok. What they are calling "unaffiliated contractors" are no longer getting access to it. Equipment owners still can buy it, but it is a very stripped down version.

I give up trying to understand the decisions around here sometimes. We've been told not to answer the question and have them contact their salesman.

Nope, shot down by sales. He said I could call service, but they wonít sell it to me.

Iíll prolly just have one of my customers order it.

Huh? Do you just not like that non trane employees can get the service tool, or get entertained by people *****ing about proprietary tools for equipment?

I donít have a problem with proprietary tools. Iíll have a copy soon regardless of coming from the branch, a customer, or another source.

Shop is checking into the agreement we have with Trane. We have been partnering with installs, controls work, and equipment sales. It seems like we are a preferred contractor, just have to verify it.

Iím not complaining at all.....or getting said panties in a bunch.

The point of the post was to get more options than what would be provided in the private forums. There are a lot of good techs that frequent the open areas that donít visit the closed areas.

Wether itís a path through a local branch or another branch, or a private supplier, Iíll have a copy....Iím not upset about any of those options.

It seems like you may be upset that there are options for non trane employees?
