Poor little Scooter here can't stand the idea that the college does not take government infusions of money. The entire idea is to remain independent of government funding so as to be free from being forced to teach the government propaganda attached to the money.

A college independent of government control just kills those on the left. I quit supporting my own alma matter when they began taking government funds. And, sure enough a few years later the college was pushing liberal left wing socialism/Marxism instead of the history and economics I was taught there.

Scooter is all for colleges not taking government cash.

Just think it’s silly for you or me to pay less tax because you send money to said college.

I don't think the tax break is silly, at least not in its original 'form'. It's different now, but donations to colleges used to be deemed as an investment in our future generations and the "leaders of tomorrow", therefore an investment in the welfare of America. Today, it's a different ball game.

Why is it different? I sent my kids to college, paid the tuition...now they are working and paying taxes.

I edited my comments as you were posting ('donating to colleges' as opposed to "sending our kids"). As to what's different? It's no longer an investment in the welfare of America, it's a Far Left training camp. Not for all colleges, of course, but for most, I think. Today, if you send your kid to college, you can expect them to be stripped of all they've been taught. And of the value of the Constitution.

I rarely listen to Rush at all, but I do pay attention to what's happening in the world. Isn't the "hate speech isn't Free Speech" mantra an example? The rioting against opposing opinion?

How long ago did your kids graduate?

A lot of what I know is from the news The only Fox News I really listen to is the "real" news, not the commentaries and opeds. My other news is gleaned from the internet. Admittedly Right leaning sites, but I try to stay away from the inflammatory rant "news" shows. They're too much like MsM, and it just gets me worked up. My kids are in their 30's. Things weren't what they are today. I do know plenty of people whose kids are in college. Some of those kids are a piece of work.

But again, the Far Left lunacy doesn't apply to all colleges, but enough to have an adverse affect on the state and direction of the nation. Socialism seems to be the ideology of the day. I suppose that'll last until they get what they want, at which time they may find themselves in a mess of their own making.

What is amusing about this desire for a socialistic nation...

The USA (and for that matter a significant part of the world) drifted in that direction in the 1920's...
Folks learned the HARD way... it just does NOT work!

Do some study of history... one will see some things that are not widely discussed.

Here is what one can expect under Islamic Law regarding the treatment of women. So, where are the American women who are for women's rights? This is what we can expect when Islam is allowed in the United States and in our schools.

Here is a list of some other actual college courses that have been taught at U.S. colleges in recent years: “What If Harry Potter Is Real?” “Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame,” “Philosophy and Star Trek,” “Learning from YouTube,” “How To Watch Television,” and “Oh, Look, a Chicken!” The questions that immediately come to mind are these: What kind of professor would teach such courses, and what kind of student would spend his time taking such courses? Most importantly, what kind of college president and board of trustees would permit classes in such nonsense?

And that is one of the more lenient regions as well....And as you say why are our women's rights activists silent.
The Democrat leaders haven't told them to say anything.....as after all Islam is all about peace love and understanding.
