We are all adults here, and we try and let you guys have fun and mix it up within reason. Now if Glenn would have said the bullet thing about Corny........
As I just mentioned in that other thread, the recent atmosphere in ARP has not lent itself to taking such ambiguous wisecracks lightly. And if you haven't seen it yet, I did also offer an olive branch to Glenn in the meanwhile to hopefully undo the effects of the sizable volley of mastic mortar fire I had sent in his direction (my heated response to his bomb of a joke).

I was recently accused of being a moderate. LOL

I'm probably as conservative as anyone on this forum, but I am no longer a partisan. Both parties are corrupt.

You are an outstanding writer. Making more friends here will doubtless improve your experience here. Sometimes we find you 'a little abrasive'.

Many of us really like ARP, that is why it is so popular. We get so much out of it. We get to see so many different perspectives about what is going on in the world. We discuss the two topics that are considered taboo for many people, religion and politics. So, of course its not always going to be pretty. We don't want to castrate anyone, we do our best to keep the punches above the belt, so to speak. Add into that everyone has a different idea of what is funny and what is F'd up. Sprinkle in the ability of people to be able to discern sarcasm in written words and we have a very challenging place at times. It would help for everyone to try and keep things as civil and respectful as possible. I respect that you are often out numbered here, and are fighting many adversaries, but like the old saying goes, " You attract more flies with honey than with vinegar"

Keep your chin up, MG...God made an allowance for parasites when He created all the world's creatures, so I suppose there's precedent for your kind too.

Regarding Glenn...I have had the privilege of meeting him a couple of times. Glenn is a patriot all the way, he served in Viet Nam and he is pretty sensitive about certain things because of his experiences.

I think he's sometimes misunderstood on here because of that. But he's as fine a man and nice a guy as you'll ever meet.

Roy is another who has experienced things the rest of us have not. He escaped from East Germany back when it was a very bad place, and he has seen the horrors of Socialism first hand. I know some of you think he's a little kookie, but I think he's spot on and we should listen to him.

Admittedly, I have cut those two some slack because of these things. I know that there are fine men behind those screen names, they are just ultra passionate about their beliefs.

Pardon me if this sounds too boastful, newold, but while you are exactly correct in your assessment, it's also true that when it comes down to the actual verbal melees, there are many times when it seems my multiple adversaries are indeed the ones in need of reinforcements. I've said this before: Most of the guys in ARP could run circles around me in a contest of HVAC prowess, but there are very few in this forum who are wise to go toe to toe with me in word warfare (hurtin, Brian83, and a couple others are notable exceptions). Now, please understand, I'm not saying that's necessarily a good thing. Perhaps, it'd be better for me and everyone else if I didn't have such a gift for satirical berzerking, but given that it is my nature, I think I should echo your message right back to you: Perhaps my conservative colleagues in ARP, would be wise to demonstrate a little more graciousness on their end. I can indeed offer honey, but wouldn't it be nice if they brought some nice some peach preserves to the table on occasion, instead of their typical rancid meat.

Some already do, some might in the future, and alas, some never will. But that doesn't mean you or anyone else can't try. I really try and treat people with respect and empathy. People often have their opinions based on what they have seen and been exposed to all their lives. Who am I to say someone is totally right or totally wrong? I'd rather try and see where they are coming from and work within that to the best of my ability. I'm not as good as you with the written word, but trust me I can be lethal with verbal cutting attacks on people if I really wanted to. But in the end I think unless its an extreme case, I feel better taking the high road and being at least a little subtle and respectful whenever possible.

MM, your grandiloquent humility reminded me of something CS Lewis wrote.

"Pride gets no pleasure out of having something, only out of having more of it than the next man... It is the comparison that makes you proud: the pleasure of being above the rest."

    CS Lewis

MM, you leave us all so impressed.
