    oil return thought

was thinking about units on roof at apartment buildings. manufacturer says may not need oil traps, but...

if the units are oversized, say a 2 ton for 800 sq ft apt, most of the time they're not going to run long. how long do you think a unit would have to run to push oil back up several floors? or am I overthinking it?

Yeah, depends on the velocity of the refrigerant, how well the apartments are insulated, and the total length of run.

You've posted this in a residential forum, but if the apartment building is multi story, I would call that commercial. For example, not too often you see a five story or higher residence.
If you were a real tech, you'd solder a relay on that board and call it good to go.

I do a triple evac with nitro to remove non condensables.

I use 56% silver on everything except steel.
