    Those spare jumpers I’ve saved over the years definitely come in handy.

    Come on...you hand made everything else there...should have some handcrafted jumper wires for an authentic feel.

    I got a bushel of jumpers that came with a york heater kit.. i was meaning to get in the install manual and see if they had a purpose or not. Maybe next year..

    I hope that thing is secured to the unit somehow....hate to see it fall over!

    LOL, the customer would NOT want the bill to fix that. That would take FOREVER to get the right defrost board and require a new capacitor and contactor... maybe another hard-start kit. Those are usually NOT a great thing to see in a unit in the first place.

    All those melted wires on the defrost board would take a LONG service call to neaten up and/or replace. Finding the size of the cap would probably take a while, too. Even that whip looks burnt and should probably be replaced.

    I think I would recommend a replacement condensing unit and given this thing was probably installed back when Moby Dick was a Minnow (quoting Steve Lavimoniere), they would be looking at a new air handler, too.

    This IS the perfect time for a new system!
