Wanted to reduce the pressure drop by half. Did have two extra tees but didn't have a large enough filter or four extra 90Ί. <g>

Straight A/C ? Maybe it was a burnout ( compressor was changed ) and wanted the suction filter driers to remove containment ASAP but it fell threw the cracks to remove or they where planning on leaving as a conversation piece.

Last day on the job for the Tech. with that company before moving on..

The tech was given 2 filters and told to put them in. The guy that gave them to him screwed up and gave 2 suction instead of a suction and liquid.

It is the prototype bypass relief that Sporlan uses in some of their suction filters.

I do remember a thread where the guy said that on a dirty system he would parallel liquid filters so that he would not have to come back to change them as often because they were plugged. If I remember he said he would stack them so the bottom one would fill first.

Sure enough that for a heat pump. The guy didn't have biflow dryer so he decided to put in two standard dryer and just flipped one with the arrow pointing at the condensor

Its gotta be for capacity of the filter.

Hardly anyone looks, but most suction driers simply line sized do not have much capacity, and those look to be small.
