    Tempered Make-Up Air

The kitchen exhaust hoods for our new school have been installed.

    Make & Model - Caddy Corporation PB-C-W-142.5-ND-60

Link to spec sheet - http://www.caddycorp.com/userfiles/p...lter.Style.pdf

Here's what it says about make-up air:

    Make-Up Air (Perimeter Down Discharge)
Ventilator shall have 40% open stainless steel perforated
screens for downward discharge of tempered make-up air.
Supply volume is 80% or designed to the desired air balance.
To you, does tempered make-up air mean heated, cooled, both or something else? Thanks.

    Heated only.

Cooled make-up air is a fairly rare beast. If it was supposed to be cooled, it would have said so.

Okay, that's what I thought. I started another thread a while back on kitchen ventilation and that was the consensus. Hopefully, I can be there when they're balancing the system to see if the outside air is going to be a nuisance or not. Thanks for the reply.
