    I finally can support Trump!

He's the first president I know of that actually had the knowledge & guts to go after the thievery going on in the health care industry. There is no reason that this should be a partisan issue
& if it turns out to be one then the dissenting party will probably lose whatever credibility they have left.
I'm definitely surprised & hope I'm not being fooled by Trump but for now I have to support his efforts here & give him a lot of credit.

Thanks; I didn't know about this fight for us.

But it agrees with my overall feeling that President Trump seems to want to do things like this across the board. That is: do things which benefit The American People.

Something at least a little suspect is the timing of his announcement - making it appear to be at least a little intended as a campaigning-move. <g>

Now if we can just get him to work hard on re-instituting the original Glass-Steagal Act and getting the Citizens United decision overturned. <g>

Health care is probably the only industry where you don't know the costs until after the fact.

Can't say I've ever thought of marriage as an industry. I guess the product would be babies? LOL

Regardless, the pre-nup agreement could be said to spell out the cost.

For years the medical industry has been making deals with insurance companies & charging unreasonable rates to consumers who don't have those insurance companies behind them. Charges for services rendered can amount to as much as 10 times or more than what they would be allowed to charge when insurance companies get to adjust the bill according to their agreement with the provider. The hospitals, labs, doctors etc.. all get away with it legally by using the word "discount". I once had a $50.00 lab bill turn into over a $2,000.00 bill because the lab was out of network & I didn't get the so called insurance discount. The justification we always hear is because of all the people who don't pay the hospital bill. If that was really the case then why wouldn't they just charge the insurance co. a little more since they can count on getting paid by them instead of unreasonably inflating the bill. It's about time one of our leaders stood up for the people against the health care industry. On this one I say Go Trump!

If you've never considered marriage as an industry - maybe you need more attorneys to discuss it with. <g>

But your right about the pre-nup. Now if we could only get it made a mandatory pre-condition to marriage. <g>

Has he actually done anything to prevent thievery in the medical industry ???

All his pronouncements, his exec orders...... they are all big on words... but as we find out... little on substance.

This thread is the first I've heard of it. How often does something happen as soon as it is acted upon?

A step in the right direction, but it seems that neither party wants to explore the real fix for healthcare, and that is getting the federal government out of it.

The more control the feds have, the less market competition there is. And this is why costs continue to go up.

Get the feds out, return to a free market system with the states having limited oversight to ensure quality care. Prices will plummet and the service with a smile aspect will increase dramatically.

But, that takes power out of the hands of congress, so it's not likely to happen.

Not to mention that that goes against the agenda of the Socialist Democrats.

You mean the thievery accomplished by Obama and the democrats? Yeah, the ACA where I would see huge decreases in my medical costs and could keep my doctor. Yeah, that thievery.
