    Disconnect for Water Heater?

I have one of the energy management panels in my Water Heater, no longer used by the utility. Well it open Circuited on me. I'm going to replace it with a disconnect per newer county code, which is just a straight discount. What does the most recent National Code say about this? Which they may have no adopted yet.

Not sure if you need a disconnect on a resi water heater. Perhaps a time clock would replace it nicely, and save a buck or two?

a good idea would be to have a RCD on the water heater connection... otherwise in some specific cases of failure you might be electrocuted while taking a shower
