You guys know I'm not a Trump fan but I don't see why anything he does on his taxes means anything & why anyone cares. Whether he made bad or smart business decisions, whether he cheated or used every available write off, why do I care. He obviously wants to hide them & who would blame him since it would probably cast doubt on either how sharp he is in business or how good he is at in using the system. I see it as no big deal & we'd do better moving on to more important things.

If,.... The Economy was examined/diagnosed, in the same fashion as a HVAC Unit, that was having trouble, .... I'm wondering, if Ya'll would still have the same "Beer Can Approach", as to what is going n Economically in America, & the World.

The Tariffs, Southern Border Problems, Catastrophic Weather, Debt, Fraudulent Spending,& Our Government's Inability to work together so as to overcome the many problems that We face, .... In My Belief, will soon unleash an Economic Catastrophe upon America.

With all of the Stress, Anger, Hatred, Corruption, & even "Threats of War", that is building up between America, it's Allies, & Our Enemies, ..... We can not allow Our Agricultural Base to Fail, ...... Nor let it continue to go the way of Our Industrial Base, where a huge amount of Our Factories moved overseas.

"Imagine, if You will", ... In a Rod Sterling/ "Twilight Zone" fashion, .... A greatly weakened America, that has so thoroughly "Pissed Off" it's Allies & Enemies, that when it comes in danger of a Major Agricultural Failure, ... That Food Imports are cut off, so as to force it to give up to the demands of other nations.

America can not let it's Agricultural Base to Fail, & it also needs to QUICKLY Rebuild it's Industrial Base in a TVA Fashion.

Ya'll can continue to look at this in a "Beer Can Cold" fashion, but I absolutely believe that America, & the World are repeating the 1920s/1930s, all over again, & Ya'll, unless You've been "Common Core Educated", should remember what brought America out of The Great Depression.

Problem is, ..... We, America, .... Are Light Years from being that "Sleeping Giant", that Saved the World from the Nazis & Japanese.

We can not continue to allow "The Rich & the Famous" to rake in Billions in Real Estate write-offs & depreciation, ... While those who put Food on our Table Catastrophically Fail.

Nor can America allow Corporate Giants to swoop in & buy up these Farms for "Pennies on the Dollar", which I believe is "The Art of the Deal".

Americans Brace For Shock Surge In Everyday Food Prices

    by Tyler Durden
    Sat, 04/27/2019 - 09:47

"The 'patient' Fed has been lamenting the "lack of inflation" for far too long. It is about to get its wish.

American food merchants are struggling to import fruits and vegetables from Mexico as wait times at port of entries along the Mexico–US border have surged because of a shift in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel away from the port of entries to remote regions of the border to fight illegal crossings. As a result, shipments of food have dramatically declined in recent weeks, and the result is an imminent spike in imported food prices in the coming months that could put a sizeable dent in consumer wallets.

Fruit and vegetable importers that wholesale to grocery stores throughout the US, could inflate prices by at least 20% to 40% if the wait times continue, with avocado prices already soaring (see "Mexican Avocado Prices Explode By Most In A Decade After Trump Border Threat")."

"And it's not just avocados: cucumbers, eggplants, bell peppers, squash, cherry tomatoes, watermelons, and most other fruit and vegetables imported from the tropics would be affected.

"(The) Mexican border, it’s one of the most important crossings to the United States," said Joshua Duran, Amore Produce sales representative.

About 43% of all US fruit and vegetables originate from Mexico. In the last several decades, Mexico has become the top trading partner with the US. Much of the US-Mexico commerce involves mega-corporations that send products back and forth across the border as part of a critical segment of their supply chain that has increased since the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) took effect in 1994."

"If the wait times persist at the border, in the coming months Americans will be shocked by soaring prices in the produce section of their local grocery stores, a move that could reverse consumer sentiment right before an important election year.
But at least the Fed will be delighted: it will have achieved some of that "symmetric" inflation overshoot it has been seeking for so long... and all thanks to Trump."

Normally it would be my position that Trump said he would release his tax returns and should. In this case if I was treated the way Trump has been I wouldn't piss on a democrat's leg if their pants were on fire. I would give them nothing but would call for an audit of the taxes of every member of congress. If it's OK to spend $30 million plus on a witch hunt we can spend money on audits and probably the return would exceed the cost.

I understand what You are saying Wayne, but, ....

In lieu of a Fire Extinguisher, I would be tempted to piss on a Democrat's leg, & for that matter a "Turncoat" Republican's pants, ... Out of Compassion for My Fellow Man. (Kinda/Sorta ).

As far as presenting those documents?

Trump publicly promised to do so, "If" Elected,... He Failed, & began to give many excuses, which means that he's not a Man of His Word.

And, .... If he had for some reason, gotten distracted, delayed in presenting them, ... then in a "Un-Kenyan Like Fashion", as in presenting an Original Birth Certificate,.... He could have called for a Nation Wide News Conference, presented & briefly gone through those Returns to show that he had not committed any Wrongdoing, & then PUBLICLY Address the unceasing Diarrhea that comes from the Godless Liberal Left.

In My Belief, ... that Act, would be a Political Coup over the Democrats, & "If", ..... He would continue to provide Proof of what he states, in brief detail, on National TV, ..... Then he would Politically Destroy the Democrats.

But he doesn't do that, ... Which in turn, throws gas on the fire.

If I was Trump I would use the tax returns as a distraction. Not only that but I would distract the haters in both parties with everything I could think of. The main thing that has to be accomplished now is defeating and exposing the coup. Our freedom is at stake and those trying to circumvent the voters have got to be defeated at any cost or we are doomed to socialism that is followed by a full blown communist government and that is unacceptable. The DOJ has to be cleaned up and the guilty punished or this crap will happen again and next time will probably succeed.

I Actually Believe that Firm Attention needs to be Focused many Issues at the same time.

I refuse to accept that a Government, or at least a "Reputable Government", can not perform hundreds of Tasks at the same time.

The "Drums of War" are beating ever louder over Iran, Venezuela, with China & Russia lingering not far behind, let alone what's already ongoing in Africa, Syria, Afghanistan, & Iraq, ....."Undeclared War", will not be a Distraction, but a increasing repetition of what has driven Us to where America is now.

With these Sanctions/ Tariffs, National Debt, "Credit Bubbles", "Debt Bubbles", Corporate Debt, Unfunded Liabilities, that go hand-in-hand with Government Spending $$$ like there's no end to it, (which when it's "Printed outa thin Air" then there isn't an end to it), ... We, are living "High on th' Hawg", & Ignoring the fact that the "Hawg" is Bleeding out.

America absolutely must Focus upon what our Foundations are, & The American Farmer is Absolutely One of them, ....... If they Fail, due to Natural, or Man Caused problems, .... Well, "Rome will burn to the Ground".

And, as far as these Real Estate Write offs/ & Depreciation allowed for Our Billionaire Elite, that have buildings towering up in to the Sky?

A Food Crisis Is Here: Trouble For Farmers In The Corn Belt

    by Tyler Durden
    Sat, 05/11/2019 - 14:25

Authored by Mac Slavo via SHTFplan.com,

Trouble is brewing for farmers in the United States located in the “corn belt.” Corn is fed to the animals much of the country consumes, so without it, we are staring a food crisis right in the face.

"Corn planting is already behind on schedule. The weather in the United States has made farming difficult as of late, while bankruptcies soar and flooding continues. As the weather in four of the top six states for corn production couples with the skyrocketing number of bankruptcies of American farmers, we could be on the precipice of a food crisis. And to make matters worse, none of the weather is expected to improve, putting even more financial pressure on the already stressed farmers according to the latest Crop Progress report is issued Monday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), according to an AccuWeather analysis.

The four states significantly behind on schedule are Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, and South Dakota; and they are expected to remain that way, according to AccuWeathermeteorologists who have been analyzing the data. Those four states combined to produce nearly 40% of the corn in the U.S. If the weather continues a wet pattern through late May, consumer prices could go up this summer. Iowa and Nebraska, the other two states among the top six corn producers, are also behind, albeit, only slightly behind, according to data from the USDA.

“The question will be how much farther it will fall behind the pace,” said AccuWeathersenior meteorologist Jason Nicholls. “It’s about a week behind schedule right now. If it were to go to a week and a half or two weeks, that’s big news. Most of the problems are because of consistent rains, plus there is also rain in the forecast,” Nicholls said. “Of the two key producing states, Iowa isn’t too bad, but Illinois is way off schedule.”"

"This could be the beginning of what amounts to a food crisis. Although most don’t see a “run on the grocery stores” happening, we’ll see higher prices at the pump (corn is used for ethanol) and less choice at our stores with a higher price tag on those things available."

Regarding Trump's returns...a lot of you do not understand business and taxes. Trump owns like 500 companies. Some make money, some lose. And part of that is by design. Large corporations will often buy up other companies to get an asset or product they have, and then let them fail for the tax break. They will also intentionally keep winners and losers to balance tax liabilities. When a business goes through tough economic times, they will sometimes run at a loss for awhile. My own HVAC/R business ran at a loss for awhile after the economy crashed in '09ish. Sometimes, the losses were more than we could claim in a single year, so we had basis carryover which allowed us to use portions of the losses in subsequent years to offset some tax liability. All perfectly legal and the right thing to do. It sounds like Trump's companies were using similar legalities to offset future profits with loss carryovers from previous years.

You faithful Democrats amaze me. You hated Trump because he is rich, you hate him because he lost billions. What, exactly, is it that you want from him?
Seriously Nafta 2.0 never pasted, the wall never built and mexico will never pay for it ( ang wall that is getting built is replacement), health care is easy ( thats what Trump said) just wanting to take preexisting conditions away, wants to lower poverty level dollar amount. OSHA cut spending and if and how companies report, reduced inspectors. Changed child labor laws and 1 in 5 kids are born into poverty what has he done- nothing except cut money's. Theres more just prove me wrong !

Whats scary about Trump is he is using Iran and NOKO to try and distract from his taxes. NOKO been avoiding them sanctions for years... but not that the heat is on Trump they decide to seize a NOKO vessel at sea.... and the Iran thing this week..... I dont believe there has been any kind of threat from Iran against US forces in Iraq or anywhere else...

He is pulling all this right out of the Clinton play book....

Trump: Farmers to Get $15B Amid China Trade War

    Monday, 13 May 2019 04:33 PM

President Donald Trump said on Monday that his administration was planning to provide about $15 billion in aid to help U.S. farmers whose products may be targeted with tariffs by China amid a deepening trade war.

"We're going to take the highest year, the biggest purchase that China has ever made with our farmers, which is about $15 billion, and do something reciprocal to our farmers so our farmers can do well," Trump told reporters at the White House.

He did not provide any more details on what kind of an aid package it would be.

American farmers, a key constituency of Trump, have been among the hardest hit in the trade war. Soybeans are the most valuable U.S. farm export, and shipments to China dropped to a 16-year low in 2018, while soybean futures prices last week fell this week to 11-year lows.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said on Friday that Trump had asked him to create a plan to help American farmers cope with the heavy impact of the U.S.-China trade war on agriculture.

A new aid program would be the second round of assistance for farmers, after the Department of Agriculture's $12 billion plan last year to compensate for lower prices for farm goods and lost sales stemming from trade disputes with China and other nations.

"Out of the billions of dollars that we're taking (in in tariffs on Chinese imports), a small portion of that will be going to our farmers, because China will be retaliating, probably to a certain extent, against our farmers," Trump said."

    Let me get this straight about the Deal Maker;
He makes a great trade deal with China that takes yours & my taxes to subsidize the farmers who are being hurt by his deal.
I hope he keeps his great deals to a minimum because I don't know how much of his great deals our country can stand.
We are in a good economy where we should be able to get rid of the deficit & lower the national debt & yet he's still raising them to epic proportions.
What do you think is going to happen when the economy drops down. The next president is going to get stuck with the mess that the Deal Maker created.
