    Two contractors with two plans

First let me say I have had Five free estimates. Based upon a bad experience I tend to get more estimates than I need.

    Dealer 1:
Lennox elite EL296UH070XV36B , two stage w/variable speed motor, 70,000BTU
Lennox elite XC16S-036-230, 2 stage AC
Lennox Humidifier and Merve 16 filter
10 year parts and 3 year labor
    Dealer 2:
Carrier Performance 59TP6A080E17-16, two stage furnace, with ECM motor
Carrier Performance 24ACB736A003 17 Seer two stage AC
Aprilaire humidifier 600# and air cleaner 1610
10 year parts and 1 year labor

Just looking for a few opinions or experiences with these systems.

The name and reputation of the installing contractor is more important then the name on the boxes!

    THIS ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

While the name on the box is not totally irrelevant...
It should not, IMO, be the major deciding factor.

Talk to your family and friends... (NOT the internet)...
And find the person they trust and recommend (would your family intentionally tell you to use someone they had a bad experience with???)...
Then interview that person on a sales call at your home.
If your 'gut' says that person will pay careful attention to details...

That is probably your better choice.

*Installation is more important than the brand of equipment
*The duct system keeps the house comfortable; the equipment only heats and cools (and dehumidifies)
*The value of comfort, over the long term; leave economic choices behind!
    Choose your contractor wisely!

Looks like it’s already been said, but I’ll join the chorus. Quality, honest contractors who truly know what they’re doing, are not the norm in this industry. In fact, in some areas they can be incredibly hard to find.

Once you do find one however, you can basically turn the reins over to them and they’ll be able to pick what system will be best for your circumstance.

We love to help on this forum, but your post would be akin to me going on a golfing forum, listing several different size irons and then asking them which is best for me to use. Without a lot of context, Probably more than you’ll be wanting to provide over the Internet, we’re not gonna be able to help you choose a system.

You would be better served, describing the contractors, how they conduct themselves, whether they did load Calculations, what questions They asked you, etc... we could let you know if we see any red flags.

In conclusion, you’re asking the wrong question. It’s not which system you Should buy, but who you should buy it from, that you should be asking.
