    A horror in Paris -

Notre Dame cathedral is on fire. So massively that the spire has collapsed. Somehow it feels like the end of the world to me.

Made it 800 years and for some reason when they get a pot load of folks from the middle east, it goes up in flames even with modern firefighting tech... Curious..... Be interesting to follow.

From what I saw in the coverage, the area surrounded by metal scaffolding was an all-wood section under some sport of renovation.

It will definitely be interesting to see the follow up investigation, since terrorists like to hit iconic targets of cultural significance.

Let's hope it's truely a simple accident and not another "some people did something" incident.

Sad that a US Representative could say "some people did something" when talking about 9-11.

Ilhan Omar is representative..... of big trouble for everyone.

Apparently, much of the building was indeed made of wood...much more than I would have imagined. I just leaned that the building was nicknamed "the forest."

Sadly, the Drudge Report has links reporting prior ISIS plots to attack the Cathedral back in 2016.

Sad. I was there 4-5 years ago. Got to explore most of it. Climbed up to the top.
If I do a job in 30 minutes it's because I spent 30 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes. You owe me for the years, not the minutes.

That was you? Damn; I thought I heard a southeastern Pennsylvania accent! <g>

Actually the last time I was in Paris was when they bombed Stade de France up in Saint-Denis. I think that was 2014 or 2015. I'm was going back this fall but now I'm thinking of going sooner.

Macron is an effin jerk off.

Did I hear on the radio today that the French have completed their investigation, and it's not terrorism?

In only what, 24 hrs? Isn't that a bit quick? They've had enough time to comb through all of the debris? Test for accelerants? Get test results back? Etc?

Why am I just a bit skeptical?
