    Im just throwing a dart here... repair tech comes time and time again finding the HPS tripped off and nothing wrong, replaces the HPS but continues to have the same issue. determines the HPS control circuit must be getting feedback and is causing nuisance trips so instead of continuing to troubleshoot it they decide to bypass it, all the while its the facilities that was turning off the condenser loop causing the HPS to trip.... end scene!

    You are exactly right about the Schrader being removable for tandem compressors. At the company I work for we remove the oil by removing the compressor and dumping it out of the schrader or sight glass.
