Lifetime Job Security with Great Income

    Ferd's Formula:
    1. Start with several years' hands on service and repair to gain an understanding of the opportunity the guys from the Apha Hotel are creating and learn about servicing the high tech stuff out there.
    2. Buy some TAB instruments, use and learn from them.
    3. Spend $2K+/- to travel to ACCA HQ in Shirlington, VA and spend four days learning about J, RS, D, etc. from Hank Rutkowski, PE who wrote them. The $1K+/- tuition includes all the manuals that matter AND the ACCA sliderule, close to what they might cost if bought online. There's a lot of science - the course will certify you to teach if you're in the top 90% of the 10% who take the test (I didn't make the 10%).
    4. Take a TAB course, which'll incur similar costs.

You'll spend a lot less and have beaucoup more applicable knowledge than you would on a four year college education - even considering lost wages if you have to take TOWP.

The good part: You'll be light years ahead of many of us when we got into it.

I’ll take your word for it on the steps to success so to speak. Being a fridgie guy I never gave the ac guys much credit and never even imagined that the tab world existed. But there seems to be many manufacturers promoting the t&b credentials. Trane, upg, and god knows who else has a ductulator. Smacna, Samuel sugarman has a t&b book ( Im currently reading so I can’t comment on the similarities or differences) and their are probably hundreds more. That being said why the acca for all the materials and credentials ( I’m in my forty’s so even if this was the path to righteousness it’s not happening) maybe twenty years ago when I first started. This ran on longer than I thought, in short why the acca and not one of the other associations?

Sob there was a resource that I didn’t fully exploit when it was Available. So much knowledge I don’t know if I would have been truly worthy of the answers provided.
