    Single phase AC compressors haven’t been told what their OEM cap size is either.... if unable to find cap size info go with the size that provides the lowest amp draw. But if it’s Copeland it’s super easy to find on the app

    I heard if you install the top an 1 O'clock and the bottom at 7 O'clock, they last longer.

    and i'm guessing the government has our best interest at heart too? I grew up with a few people that are engineers today, they manufacturer what's easiest to build, not what best for longevity, of course, there are a few exceptions, every once in a while, and given my degree in electronics, a capacitor works on all sides, considering it is basically aluminum foil with toilet paper between it floating in oil, and yes, you can make a crude cap with those things, it just doesn't last that long
