Hello to all. I am obviously new to this. The reason I joined is for some information regarding EMS. Continuum2 in particular. Is there anyone that might be able to give me some insight?

    Thanks

Yes I have been working in the HVAC field since 1978. For the past 10 years I have worked for a school corp. as facility maintenance for the high school. We have continuum as one of our EMS platforms. Recently I have been trying to expand my knowledge on the programming side. I would like to learn how to Add a device to our existing system and I am not able to get the program to bring the new device online. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    Okay, two things.

When you get 15 posts., you can apply for our free Pro designation, which unlocks the rest of the site, including our educational forums, with a lot of great stuff.

We also have a controls forum where things like devices and programs are discussed in-depth. Many of the controls guys don't use the section where you posed your question.

Here is a link to it:

I joined the "HVAC school of hard knocks" just before my 22nd birthday. I started as a technician in the Vending field. after 2 months there, I was given a 30 minute class on refrigeration, handed a tank of r-12 and a set of gauges and was cut loose on the vending machines.

After a couple of years, as I see it now, I ran into a basic refrigeration issue that I was stumped on. I talked with a friend that attended ivytech refrigeration class. He graciously loaned me his books. I started reading, might has well been written in Japanese, I understood nothing. Then I opened the first volume of the books and suddenly thoughts and ideas started to make sense.

At 6 years in the vending repair business, the company I worked for decided to move my shift to 8:30 pm- 5am. That was really tough on my wife and kids. I found an add for a vending tech with the local Coca Cola company. I Applied and got the job.

The controls forum is in the open area. You should be fine.

When you are granted Pro status, there is a Pro controls sub-forum, which is one of the three choices you see in the link I posted.

For now, you can scroll down and use the open area.

The controls forum is an open forum.

And if you wish to apply to become a Pro member. Its 15 post of some technical substance, not just 15 random post.
