There is a vacuum relief and a prv. I didnt need the vacuum relief because my heater is lower than all my pipes. But rheem will void the warranty on the tank if removed.
The tank is polybutylene and if it were to be in a vacuum from someone draining it wrong or a siphoning effect if installed in a penthouse, it could crack the tank

Interesting to know it uses a gasket seal, i was wondering how they would connect since the whole thing is plastic. The 0.2 degrees per hour heat loss rating is pretty insane on those Marathons. Pretty sure teflon isn't going to do jack on a gasket seal, good work using the torque wrench. Most common failure of gasket seals is gasket/o-ring being pinched by overtightening.
i like your work but where is the the temp pressure relief valve piping that should terminate 6 in from the floor?
i did not notice it until i looked at the pictures again why run the 220 line in conduit part way up then leave it exposed romex? in my area we have to have it in conduit or sealtite all the way to the panel or the closest junction box
Its not code here to run in conduit. I did it because it looked better.
If you read the beginning i said i still needed to pipe in the PRV. She is piped in now.

It works nice. I installed a inline filter which gets big crap out of the water and also acts as a water hammer device. The humidity is always at setpoint. I use my thermostat as the humidistat.
Dont run the water line on your ductwork and dont mount it to the ductwork or you will get a lot of noise from the fill/drain valve energizing.

can we see the completed install i agree about the conduit
show the wife she should be proud of your install work
on the conduit i would put a bushing on the end of it to keep the metal edge from wareing at it over time just to be on the safe side thats just me
Why did you choose an electric water heater? Just curious.
I installed a non matalic Rheem tank about 11 years ago. I know it's still going. Rheem claims a lifetime warranty and we'll see if that's true.
I didnt feel like running a flue pipe. Dont think i had the space either.
