Seems like not many follow up on what they find. Maybe they are embarrassed by what they needed help with, maybe they only used the thread to get a quick answer and won't return until they're stuck again. Or perhaps they give up. Either way it would be nice to be updated on what the problem was.

Reminds me of a job I did a few months ago, evap fan died on walk-in, the system was a very old r-12 converted to r-134a, yeah, it cooled. It never shut off, but it cooled.
replaced the fan and compressor wouldn't start.
After it was all said and done I took the compressor apart at the shop, an old cast iron, the piston was stuck in the crankcase sideways.
