    Sale/Quote

When yall give a quote on for a system replacement or to have work done (coil, duct work, etc)

How long do you give it before you do a follow up call to the customer to see if they made a decision, wether it be yes go ahead with the work, they went with a different company or the want to wait on doing the work.

If they say they went with a different company, do you ask why?

Ive been a service tech for 7 years. I am been doing sales, along with service for a year now.

Just trying to get some pointers to better hone my craft thats all.

To all that will reply with legit answers, thanks.

Generally, I wait 48 hours. I follow up with a drive over to check up with them. It is way harder to say no to somebodys face. If they went with another company, I reinforce that is fine, but I ask why. If they dont have a good answer, I typically smash out their windows with a crescent wrench. I am joking about the windows.

Always try to get a signature before you leave. Even then they may call and cancel. But your odds go up exponentially by getting that sig on the spot.

    Wow we collect 50%.
Unless weve done a lot of business with the person.

Last year I had a person I gave a quote too, called left messages. Nothing. Filed away the quote 6 months later called up and wanted the system done

Still need to do whatever you can to get that signature on the spot. It will up your sales by 50% or more. If they say they still want to get more bids then ask them in what way havent you solved their needs. It works more often than not.

10% deposit, and a progress payment upon starting or equipment delivery. Always trying to reduce the amount they owe me as much as possible. You never know. Im a one man shop, so install job takes me a little longer. I cant do it in one day thats for sure. If they dont sign on the spot, I ask if its ok to call them, and I ask which day and what time. That way they set up the follow up call, not me.
