Financial stuff could keep you from getting one but if you are truthful on the application you may get one. I would apply and see. A clearance opens many doors.

Your a young kid. Im not sure what the issue is.. You have a skill, you can go anywhere.. This board here aint gonna help much.. you have to apply yourself.. NJ full of jobs but you will need to do one of the systems up there. Its mostly franchise. You can make your 80-100k a year easily. But cost of living higher there.

    You married? Kids?

I was a plumber 30 years in NJ. House, cars, campers, motorcycles, pool, white picket fence crap..

I had enough of NJ, put house for sale, sold in 3 days. Packed up and moved to myrtle beach. Found a job the next day. This was in July.. Im never looking back.. work out the kazoo here for the trades.

If I knew what was down here 15 years ago I would of got out of NJ long ago.

    Thank you for your information.
Ive heard this on many occasions. And more and more. About ppl leaving jersey and never wanting to come back. I wish I did know what was stopping me from landing one of the many jobs Im applying to.
Fortunately I do not have kids and single. Only the dog.

Ive heard the Carolinas do have great opportunities.

Some companies will pay for your clearance. Some clearance processes can be very deep and time consuming. I would assume that would not apply to you...but I have seen a clearance for some levels in the $60k+ range depending on the requirement of the job and the program read-ins that are needed.

A basic clearance may cost you nothing out of pocket.

It's not that crazy when they need to be sure who and what you are, and whether THEY feel secure about YOU. Usually, this is top secret and above. Of course, the words "top secret" have become something of a misnomer during the past 60 years.....it is no longer the "top" clearance.

Interesting. .... yeah that would be a whole new realm for me. Something I am in no way familiar with. Of course never block any possible opportunities. I will definitely look into this. Im assuming just by searching the PAE as SgtBone has said ?

If you were a real tech, you'd solder a relay on that board and call it good to go.

I do a triple evac with nitro to remove non condensables.

No. A program acronym system is a better approach because programs are compartmentalized, so that only those people with direct involvement in a program are authorized to be part of the information stream for said program. They keep the number of people with mufti-program access down to a minimum, and that is due to the need for oversight and coordination.

Decades ago, the hierarchy was confidential, classified, secret, and top secret. That changed with the formation of Majestic and WSFM. That is also when a lot of the program oversight ended, for better or worse.

And no, the President does not have access to the highest (most secret) programs. He can be briefed when needed, but they rarely have to do that, since many programs are autonomous and do not need any approvals whatsoever. General Eisenhower made a very famous speech about that, but from what I can tell, there was no administrative change that came from his concerns.
