Convert gas log fireplace to gas log lighter

The fireplace in our house was originally a wood burning one that was converted to a gas log set at some point. It has a set of fake logs, and a valve to turn on the gas. I then light the gas using a match. The flue is still fully functional (can open/close). Id like to convert this back to a wood burning fireplace with a gas log lighter (not sure if thats the correct term). Basically I want to be able to put real wood in the fireplace, and then use the gas line to light the logs (then turn off). How complicated of a process is this? Does the gas line itself need to be changed, or can I simply remove the fake logs and add a rack for real wood?

No, I do not. If it will involve actually messing with the gas line, then I either wont do it or hire someone. I was kind of hoping the current line could serve as a wood log lighter in its current form.
