Two 100 pound tanks gas tanks empty without use.

So in a week my two hundred pound gas tanks went empty with almost no use of the fireplace. Also I noticed the carbon monoxide detector went off a few times. So I have a leak. Should I use soap and water to check for a leak?

Yes, you can use soap bubbles to locate the leak or leaks.

You should be able to almost Hear a 200 lbs. per week leak. <g>

But yes; just use soap. There are special soaps for the purpose but children's bubble-blowing soap will work well.

Can you smell raw propane inside your fireplace?

When faced with the choice between changing one's mind, and proving that there is no need to do so, most tend to get busy on the proof.
