How far is your business along ?
I'm planning out my business and am wondering what aspects (outside of finding new and repeat customers) I should be focusing on to grow my business. Anything that you all have added on that moved the needle forward?
How far is your business along ?
Finding competent employees that you can trust to talk and work for your customers seems to be the number one problem.

It all depends on where you are. If you are in a metro area then you need to find your niche, if you are more rural they you need to be more of a one stop shop. The main thing is to be good at what you do. Do a great job and a few people will hear about it, do a bad job and most everyone will hear about it.
BNME8EZ's was good.
That last line made me laugh.
Definitely make sure you differentiate yourself from your competition, whether you're the Walmart of the HVAC industry or you're hyper specific where you only work on commercial buildings and corporations.
Here's an article I found about this as well: https://housecallpro.com/learn/post/grow-hvac-business
Another thing, run Facebook Ads.
Don't do it yourself, but hire a professional to do it for you.
Last thing, as mentioned above, making sure your employees are capable as well as have a good grasp on customer service.
Hope this helped.
Get your tools/equipment/building/etc paid for. Sale service agreements from day one, these are your real customers and add value to your business if you sale out one day.
Facebook ads have done wonders for my friends business. He doesn't spend a lot and gets a lot of return. He does it every time the season swings from hot to cold and vice versa.
I'm a little over a year in -- just me right now. Doing pretty good, but I'd like to get to a place where I could get a tech or two.

Doing pretty good, but I'd like to get to a place where I could get a tech, so I'm at that place where I have a bit extra saved up and am trying to decided whether to invest it back in the business in terms of marketing, or if it should go towards a tech.

Though my inability to navigate a simple forum is making me rethink my abilities altogether -- how on earth do you delete a comment?
As a owner/operator and somewhat established do you need more work for yourself ?
If you do advertise wouldn't that add to your existing workload ?
If you spend your savings on advertising then get that additional work where is the money for the now needed tech ?
