There was a time when air-cooled chillers didn't have a standard factory startup, but that was several years ago. I believe it changed with the RTAA and it's requirement to control the chilled water pump. Our office saw problems with no factory startup, and we convinced the salesmen to include it in their pricing. Then later, the factory included a startup. That was with RTAAs. I think RTACs hit the market with a factory startup include. And required. And CGAMs.

Everything you said is correct except RTAC’s RTAA’s and scrolls originally didn’t have factory startups paid by the factory. That was changed about 10 years ago. Our office always provided startup and the salesman put the cost in the chiller.

I'll stand corrected, and believe that. I probably presumed the RTACs and CGAMs hit the market with startup included, because our office was including it. Must have taken longer for the factory to include it than I remembered. 10 years is asking a lot for my memory these days, lol.

We all get the case of CRS now and again!
