Combustible gas intake from garage ok?

    Hey guys,
Thanks in advance for the help.
I have a Trane XV90 high efficiency furnace. It is located in a 10x8 utility room in my basement along with a gas water heater. The exhaust and intake run thru the firewall into my garage, then up into attic, where they Wye and go out the roof.
Last year the condensation in the wye started leaking due to a crack and ruined the ceiling drywall. I replaced, but was not aware that it needs a concentric. Just learned that today. So I used a regular old wye, etc. Obviously, that didnt work as an intake. So I just cut the intake pipe and am drawing from the garage which is not insulated.
The issue is that I have to go out of town tonite on business for 3 weeks. Will I be ok to draw from the garage until I get back and can redo with a concentric and run out the roof properly. Or is that unsafe?
    Thanks again.

    Jeez...calm down man.

I can see this is a pretty closed community to DIYers so ill say thanks for the help and be on my way.

Fwiw, the concentric is ordered and the intake is temporarily run out the garage window.

    Man
    You calm down.
Keep in mind several of us have seen or read about the results. It is nothing to be taken lightly!
