Second opinion
I had one of those large HVAC companies come out and they did a combustion test. My CO level was 238. They said my 10 year old furnace needs replaced and I can not use it. Can't they adjust it to bring down the level?

NG, Propain, Oil. HW Forced Air?
Remember all that advertising, truck lettering, uniforms, big offices cost Money. They have to get it from somewhere!

It is possible that it may be able to be cleaned or adjusted, or it may not be practical. A better question is what is the warranty on the furnace. Many have a longer warranty than 10 years on the heat exchanger which would mean that you only need to pay the labor to replace it, but the heat exchanger has to be bad to be covered. In other words it needs a crack or hole to be covered. High CO does not necessarily mean a bad chamber.

Then go to the Manufactures web site and they'll have a Find a Contractor area. Get a different contractor to look at it.
