LG VRF compressor amp draw question

    Quick question guys,

    Model: ARUB144DT3
    Nameplate compressor amps 12.4

I have a multi city gen 3 with one master and two slaves. Just changed out the inverter compressor on the master unit. After install I noticed the amp draw on the wires coming off the pecker head are 15.0-17.0 amps. Now, nameplate amps are 12.4 so I believe there to be a problem. However, the job site has other units same model# and name plate info all running high amps in the 15.0-17.0 range. The compressors are not fully loaded running at about 50hz-70hz. I just want to double check with some one about the amp draw. Am I taking the amp draw in the correct place? Just wondering if taking the amps after the out put of the inverter board would give me inflated amps or should i be taking amps before the input of the inverter. Also, the constant compressor is drawing 9.0 amps and name plate is 9.4 amps. But the constant doesn't go through an inverter board.
